Pure JBL for a modest price!!!!!!!
I own two of these subs and are MORE than satisfied! The bass is tight and punchy, but they can go low if you want them to. Make sure you use a crossover with a 24db slope and a good sound processor. I use a Behringer DSP 1424P sound enhancer and a BBE Max X3 crossover...GREAT SOUND!!!!!!!! Also the JRX118S has a 4ohm impedance, so make sure your amp is stable at 4ohms stereo. If are using one amp and are running two subs on one channel and your full range speakers on the other, make sure that your amp is stable at 2ohms. I recommend QSC amps!! These subs are complete over-achievers for the price!!!!!!

I love JBL products. I own a JBL Mpro system, satellites and sub, and I have used it since the early 2000 and never had I had any problems with it, I am just a little disappointed with the JRX118S I expected to have more of a punch than it actually has.

NOISY!!
I didn't realize this unit had a fan to cool the circuitry. When I turned it on I heard the fan and immediately knew it would not work in my application. I am returning these for the Chauvet model without a fan. They may work great at a DJ event where there is constant music, but that is not my only use.

Clean quiet power
I bought the QSC GX5 stereo amplifier for use in my band's practice studio. We previously used a Mackie mixer/amp setup and we recently bought an Allen & Heath mixer along with the QSC Amp. We've gone from a little noisy system to an absolutely silent (no hiss, no noise) system even when turned all the way up. It's nice! We A/B'd the amps and while the Mackie is rated to have more power, the QSC is clearly punchier and so much cleaner. I can't say enough about how nice this amp is. I've owned Crown, Crest and Yamaha amps as well and none of them were cleaner than this one.

As for durability, it's still new BUT QSC is offering a 6 year warranty for free on this model (until March 09) so I can't imagine they would do this if these amps were a service problem.

Oh and it looks great in my rack. I read somewhere that the amp is noisy when the cooling fans get going. Knowing this, I cranked the amp full and ran a punchy CD through the mixer full blast (no distortion!)...

Easiest buying decision I have ever made
Getting this amplifier was the easiest buying decision I have ever made.

Like most of my technological and sound equipment, I bought this amplifier online basing my decision upon users' reviews. That was about two and a half years ago. There were enough reviews at the time to have a good idea about what to expect from this amplifier. Contrary to most items for which you can find online reviews, the QSC GX5 reviews were all about satisfied customers. There was not a single negative or neutral review about this item. That made the decision about which amplifier to get, very easy. The QSC GX5 was the way to go and it has performed just as it was expected, ever since I got it.

This amplifier produces a very clean and pleasant sound through two EV Eliminator I speakers (350W continuous, 700W program, 1400W peak for each speaker) coming from a PEAVEY PV14 mixer and an ART EQ-355 equalizer. I can not compare it to other options, because I have not had any...
Does what is suppose to do
Needed something to power my two polk rti12's and this works just fine. Easy to set up with a receiver's pre-amps. I only wish it was able to be turned on with a remote as you have to push the switch every time. There is a bit of noise from the unit however it isn't super loud. I have it in a cabinet that I can close and even then during quite dialog scenes you can still hear it, but it isn't as bad as not having it in a cabinet. Maybe I'll find something down the road that will be quieter, but hey it does work well.

Great amp for practice...works good with pedals
This is a good amp for the price, I picked it ip at my local shop for $83. The other reviewers as well as me agree the amp is good for a beginner or practice amp. My P Bass Special sounds pretty good through it with both the split and jazz pickup. I am a novice bass player and I notice the treble adjustment is a bit picky and can get buzzy, but that is to be expected with this type amp.

I have used a wah pedal with the amp and it sounds very good with the bass EQ at 3/4 and the MID EQ slightly past half way. I have played some basic funk and jazz through it and so far so good. The amp is loud enough for bedroom and apartment use and will not let you down as most Fender products never do. I compared this to a Hartke and Behringer amps at this low price point and liked the Rumble the best. The shop guy suggested it also as he said it had the best speaker quality of the bunch. Perfect for it's intended use
Thing thing isn't meant to be used for live gigs -- it's a practice amp and nothing more. When you don't want to drag around your giant cabinets or high-end gear, it works perfect. It's loud enough to bother the neighbors in an apartment or condo, and so far it's performing great.

As others have mentioned, you can run a 1/8" -> RCA cable and plug in an iPod / iPhone / whatever and play along with it. As a note, the 'volume' control when running a line in only impacts your bass volume. The volume on your media player is the only way to adjust the music volume. That being said, it works decent as an over-sized iPod speaker, though the tone is a big weak on the treble-side, which is to be expected.
Died after two months

Great product
This is a great product, the software could use a better help guide, but once you get the hang of it, WAY COOL! Be prepared to jump through a few hoops to get this to run on Vista or Windows 7, but it will work on these systems including XP so you'll be happy. I love DMX and American DJ!

Obsolete - no support from ADJ - wasted money
Original review in 2010: USB DMX controller works fine on Windows XP system but has problems on Windows 7. Software sees that a USB device is connected but won't communicate with it about 50% of the time. Contacted technical support and no solution available.

User interface is clunky -- lots of wasted space at top of window which you can't eliminate. No preview mode like on a dedicated DMX controller so you can't edit a lighting cue without executing it.

No chase to music capability. Should be able to create a multi-step cue and have it triggered by sound either from the laptop line input or from another program running on the laptop playing music. Need lighting and sound cues to be synchronized.

This product is barely functional and could be much, much better!

Updated review in 2012: ADJ released MyDMX 2.0 which requires new hardware - older HW no longer usable - no support from ADJ - total waste of money! Even worse, new MyDMX 2.0...
Great lighting tool
Bought this DMX controler for my church youth group. The software works amazing. Have been using it for about a year now and it is as good as new. I only wish it was compatable with Mac OSX. Other than that it was a great buy!

Perfect mixer for small venues, a step up from the Eurorack and Folio
I host a monthly Open Mic in Pasadena, at Jones Coffee, a small warehouse space. For the past 10 months I had been using a Behringer Eurorack mixer, which is about the same size as this one, also with 8-ins. Before that, I used a spirit folio, which is a tiny bit smaller. I connect the mixer to 2 Behringer powered speakers. Using this set up, I could handle 3 mics, a couple guitar-ins or a guitar and a keyboard.

Wish I could give it more stars
This mixer offers real value for the money. I bought five units for run-n-gun field work - mixing 2 to 4 mics - tie units together for occasional larger gigs. Fast setup, clean enough output, flexible hookup options. Very well documented with a full signal gainplan map and all tech details.

This mixer might not look like more costly ruggedized field mixers that ENG often deploys, and if you don't need to run on batteries, it's a great low-cost alternative. just pack it in a decent road bag and it will be reliable.

The input compressors and digital effects are also a nice touch of sophistication when ganging units together for larger projects.

Very well thought out system. Full respect to Yamaha on product design.
Nice mixer for the $
This is a fine mixer. So far this is a nicer mixer than either Alesis and Behringer mixers I own. Power chords on both of those have broken. This has the same
three-pin type as the alesis. The Behringer is not bad, but the power chord 3 prong plug (the end that attaches to the mixer) has tiny pins that are easily bent.
I like the effects on this mixer better than the Alesis I have. Nicer sounding. Quieter too.

I would recommend this mixer.
