Great little PA system
I bought this Powerworks PA50 system from Guitar Center as they had a special bringing the cost down just below Amazon's, otherwise I was all set to order from Amazon.
The unit is a lot smaller and lighter than I had envisioned from the photos - the wife refers to it as a "toy".
The sound, though, is certainly up there with larger, more expensive systems. I was not expecting much from the twin 4.5" speakers, but upon hooking up a Shure PG48 via XLR M/F cable, I had great volume, and very little distortion for human speech.
It would be unsuitable for instruments like guitar or keys as bass response is obviously not great with little speakers, so unless you add a powered subwoofer, you should not use this for that purpose. But for speaking before small groups ( 10-40 people ), it works very well. Wish they had a model with twin 6" speakers, that would be ideal for me.
Still, the product does what it's advertised to do, and does it...

the little box that rocks
I use it to play my Ipod thru so I can play drums with the music. Sounds great in my basement, seems to be built of quality. Works well to stand up or lay on its side. Will defiantely buy another one and hook together.
The only one needed
Little Amp that has power... Hooked up the drum machine and guitar and we rocked. For sure I will get another one up to 3
