KRK RP5G2 Rokit G2 5In Powered Studio Monitor (Single Speaker)
Everybody wants great sounding monitors, right? Well, you want to remember what that means when it comes to recording and mixing. Good monitors need to give you consistent, accurate playback of your tracks so you can make good mix decisions. Decisions like, does the vocal need less reverb, or do the bass and drums sound muddy, or is the tambourine too loud. With that in mind, you can't go wrong with a pair of KRK Rokit 5 monitors.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

awesome
There is nothing better than these in the monitor category at this price point, period.

Folks... these are near field monitors. They are designed for one thing: to provide an accurate, unbiased, uncolored representation of your mix, when listening up close. They do that phenomenally.

A near-field monitor setup is designed to be listened to from a few feet away, with speakers at ear level. If you properly set them up and use them in this fashion, they SHINE.

If you're expecting an every-day-listener set of speakers out of these, you might be disappointed. No, they won't fill your room with wall shaking bass. Off-axis or at a distance, the highs will sound average. Point is - room setup, speaker placement, and your purpose most of all, is important. These are monitors. Their job is to be neutral. Most people are used to speakers that are anything but; exaggerated bass, rolled off highs... not here... we're talking FLAT response from as high as you can...

Fantastic little system
The KRKs have a good reputation as studio monitors.
I bought these as high class computer speakers. They come with their own internal amplifiers, and are bi-amped. You can easily hook them up, they use regular RCA interconnects. The sound quality is so good that now I prefer listening to music through the computer + krk's, over my hi-fi set. I think they provide tremendous value for the money.
As a nice plus, there is a toggle switch to convert the power source between European and American standards.
Big hi-fi sound, reasonably small

I bought these for near-field recording monitors, and I think they are fine for that. But I haven't had much time for recording, and I have mostly used them to listen music on my PC, and for that they are also wonderful. Very natural sound, and they will play plenty loud! I have used them to record bass tracks that go down to about 40 Hz, and there is plenty of sound in the bass range. The variety of input jacks makes it easy to connect anything you like. They are only 7.25" wide and 10" deep, so it's easy to have them on your computer desk. And you can put stuff on top of them, so you really lose very little space. If you want compact monitors with a big, natural sound, I think these do the job. The bottom of the cabinet is covered in rubber about 1/16" thick, which isolates it, keeps it from sliding around, and avoids damaging the table. Very nice. Not that it matters much, but it's also a cool-looking speaker, with the yellow cone and the rubber surround on...
