Great Speakers - Extremely Versatile
Overall, I'd like to give these bad boys a solid 4.5 star rating. JBL has really come a long way with the 600 series. Allow me to give some history and then review the PRX612m.
I purchased two of these units for a mobile DJ setup. Keyword here is MOBILE, and I was looking for a speaker that satisfied a few requirements. Here is what you get with this guy:
- Almost effortless setup - the amp is built into the speaker, so no need to pair with other amps or spend more money.
- Multiple uses out of the box, use it as a main PA speaker, monitor, wedge monitor(not so great for this, more on this later) and pair it with a standalone line mixer or use the volume control on the speaker itself.
- Dual Pole Mount - Naturally these guys should be pole mounted and any height around 7-10 feet is great. Now if you are trying to get these to spread out then you can mount them in the traditional setting in which they are perfectly level on the pole and...

Clear and Loud Speakers!
I have had 2x 612's and 2 x 618 xlf's and they sound phenomenal!! These 612's really throw the sound out there, and are some of the best speakers I have ever heard. I have the volume on them at 12 O'clock,and 1/4 dial on the volume on my Mixer is Loud!
The Highs and Mids are Crisp and Clear, and the Bass is Thumpin! With a nice low weight, and a built in handle, these are perfect for the Mobile DJ.

Cheaper then QSC!!!!
As I said, these speakers are cheaper then the QSC k-12's. And because of the wood interior have a much better base response. And are also tilt direct. Which means you can post them up high and angle them down onto your dance floor just like the k-12's. I have been a mobile dj for over 21 years. Club dj for over 11 years. I have bought many pieces of equipment over the years. I am 100% old school. From tech 12's to you name it. So I know what sounds good out on the dance floor. Go to your local music store and listen for your self. You won't be sorry. I had enough money to purchase the K-12's but instead chose with my ears, and did not buy into the over hype. I believe you will too. Don't get me wrong, QSC speakers are a good product. But when you know what sounds good you go with quality not expensive hype.
